Space Marine Sniper Conversion
Being sick of painting marines, I decided to convert these as my sniper scouts. I will be adding more detail to them as able.

Last post before Colonial GT
And so a year has passed so quickly. Friday I am leaving for the Colonial GT in Clark, NJ. The Colonial is one of my favorite events of the year and I can always count on the Beltway Gamers to come out in force for this one.
Last year was a blast playing 40k. There was quite a bit of controversy about the paint scoring and nepitism. My understanding is they are very prepared this year and it seems they took everyones feedback to heart.
The missions were alot of fun. I only went 2-3 because I suck, but as long as I had a good time. The missions this year are a bit more fluffy, so hopefully they will not result in such scores as last year.
Sadly, the awesome hotel/convention center venue from last year has changed to an off site venue (VFW hall) which has me concerned after the drab facilities of the mold filled Mechanicon. However, I trust in Chris Nanry and know he has high standards.
I am looking forward to this event dispite those concerns and hope I will return with some great feedback, battle reports, and some new friends.

Draigo Conversion
So not the most complicated of conversion, but still alot of fun to make and to paint.
I used a metal Kaldor Draigo model to start with. The sword is obviously kit bashed from the Dreaknight kit. After all, it is the freaking Titan Sword! His shield is from the Hector Rex Inquisitor guy from Forge World. The base is from my friend Dameon at http://eternal-legion.blogspot.com/

Modular Gaming Table
So the Beltway Gamers have been cranking out a ton of new terrain of late after the team tourney pushed us to the limits with 16 tables. A member came up with an idea to do modular 12x12 or 24x24 inch tiles. We decided to make 2 such tables and I think they came out very good. They are completely flexible in layout.
They still need some drybrushed highlighting but I think they look great. We are going to make more area terrain tiles with craters and such as its mostly buildings and roads right now.
I know some of the WAAC players will say the 12" tiles give an advantage but you know what.? .... whatever, thats some dumb shit to say. It looks cool and everyone gets to see the tiles making it fair.

Beltway Gamers First Blood 2012 Team Tournament HUGE Success
So we had over 30 players for the Beltway Gamers First Blood 2012 Team Tournament. Even with the ice storm, we had minimal no shows. We have over $700 in prizes including multiple battle boxes and hundreds in gift certificates. Not only that, there were NO rules fights!!!! How crazy is that, the players we all super cool and a ton of fun to have.
